SeatShareLK provides trust, verification, and coordination features designed to help users make more informed decisions when arranging shared journeys.

These features support users but cannot eliminate the risks associated with travelling with other people. Drivers and passengers must use their own judgment and take reasonable precautions before, during, and after every journey.

1. Before the Ride

• Review the other user's profile, ratings, completed-trip information, and any available organization membership information.
• Confirm the date, time, route, pickup and drop-off points, number of seats, luggage, and cost-sharing contribution directly with the other user.
• Choose a safe, well-lit public pickup location where possible, especially for a first journey or a journey arranged at short notice.
• Passengers should confirm that the driver, vehicle, and vehicle registration number match the booking information before entering the vehicle.
• Drivers should confirm that the person arriving for pickup is the passenger named in the accepted booking.
• Tell a trusted friend or family member about the journey and share the ride details where appropriate.
• If anything appears different from the agreed arrangement or makes you uncomfortable, do not begin the journey.

For bookings where a Trip Verification PIN is provided, the passenger must share the PIN only after meeting the driver and checking that the driver, vehicle, and registration details correspond with the booking.

Never send or disclose the Trip Verification PIN to the driver in advance. The PIN is intended only to help confirm that the booked driver and passenger have met before the journey is marked as started.

Successful PIN entry confirms only that the PIN associated with the booking was entered. It is not an independent verification or safety certification by SeatShareLK.

2. During the Ride

• Wear a seat belt where one is provided and comply with applicable road-safety laws.
• Drivers must drive responsibly, obey traffic laws, and must not drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs, fatigue, or any other condition that makes driving unsafe.
• Passengers must not distract, threaten, harass, or interfere with the driver or other passengers.
• Everyone must respect personal boundaries and may ask to end the arrangement at a reasonably safe location if they feel uncomfortable.
• Where appropriate, use WhatsApp or another service of your choice to share your live location with a trusted friend or family member.

SeatShareLK does not continuously track or monitor the vehicle, driver, passenger, route, or journey after it begins. A started, completed, cancelled, or similar platform status is a coordination and record-keeping feature and does not mean that SeatShareLK is supervising the journey in real time.

Where live location is shared through WhatsApp or another external service, the sharing occurs through that service and is subject to its terms and privacy practices.

Drivers who use dashcams or other recording equipment should comply with applicable privacy and other laws and should inform passengers where appropriate that recording equipment is in use.

3. Platform Trust & Safety Features

• Telephone verification confirms only that a user completed SeatShareLK's telephone-verification process.
• Profiles, ratings, completed-trip information, organization membership, reports, Trip Verification PINs, and journey statuses provide useful context but do not guarantee identity, trustworthiness, licence validity, insurance coverage, vehicle condition, driving ability, or safe conduct.
• Ratings and reviews are submitted by individual users and are not independently verified or endorsed by SeatShareLK.
• Use the platform's reporting tools to report harassment, threats, discrimination, suspected fraud, unsafe conduct, false information, or other misuse.
• SeatShareLK may investigate reports and may warn, restrict, suspend, or remove accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users or the platform.

No verification, rating, badge, membership, PIN, status, or other platform feature should replace your own judgment.

4. Using Live Rides

• Live Rides allow drivers who are currently travelling, or independently intend to travel shortly, to make available seats visible to other users.
• Because Live Rides may be arranged at shorter notice, still take time to review the other user's profile and ratings and confirm the vehicle, registration number, pickup point, destination, and cost-sharing contribution.
• Do not enter a vehicle merely because a Live Ride or booking appears on SeatShareLK. Confirm that the driver, vehicle, and journey correspond with what you agreed.
• Drivers and passengers remain free to decline or discontinue an arrangement if they are uncomfortable proceeding, subject to stopping at a reasonably safe place.

Live Rides are user-created cost-sharing journey opportunities. SeatShareLK does not dispatch drivers, require them to undertake a journey, control the route, or guarantee that a Live Ride will remain available or be completed.

5. Women & Passenger Preferences

• Women-only and other ride preferences are optional coordination features intended to help users identify arrangements with which they may be comfortable.
• Users must state and respect preferences honestly and must not use them to deceive, harass, exploit, or unlawfully discriminate against another person.
• A preference, profile field, badge, or organization membership is not independent verification or a guarantee of safety.
• If a person or arrangement does not match the stated preference, do not proceed and report deliberate misuse where appropriate.

6. Travelling with Children

• A child under 12 must not be booked to travel alone. Every booking containing a child under 12 must include at least one accompanying adult aged 18 or over travelling on the same journey.
• Each adult and each child requires one available passenger seat, regardless of the contribution charged for that seat.
• The accompanying adult is responsible for the child's supervision, care, conduct, needs, and welfare before, during, and after the journey.
• Drivers and accompanying adults must agree in advance on seating, restraints, child or booster seats, luggage, pickup, and drop-off arrangements and ensure that the arrangement complies with applicable law.
• SeatShareLK does not provide or guarantee child seats, restraints, childcare, supervision, school transport, or an unaccompanied-minor service.
• Organization or school-community access does not make SeatShareLK or the organization responsible for child supervision or transportation.

7. Emergencies

In an emergency or a situation involving immediate danger, contact the relevant emergency services or authorities immediately. Do not wait for a response from SeatShareLK.

SeatShareLK is not an emergency-response service and cannot provide police, ambulance, medical, roadside, rescue, or real-time journey-monitoring assistance.

After dealing with the immediate danger, report the relevant account, booking, or incident to SeatShareLK so that appropriate platform action can be considered.

8. Important Disclaimer

SeatShareLK is an online marketplace and ride-sharing coordination platform. It is not a transportation provider, taxi service, travel agency, vehicle operator, carrier, or employer of drivers.

Drivers and passengers independently decide whether to offer, request, accept, book, begin, continue, or complete a journey. SeatShareLK does not operate vehicles, dispatch or supervise drivers, or control journeys arranged between users.

These guidelines provide general safety information only and do not guarantee that any user, vehicle, booking, Live Ride, or journey is safe, lawful, suitable, or insured.
